The Chateau Laguiole® Timeless Series© is composed of salvaged old-growth logs that sank in Lake Superior during the mid 1880's. Over a century of minerals exposure, icy temperatures and low oxygen have preserved the wood and in many cases altered its color.

Chateau Laguiole Corkscrews Versailles Wood

The selection of wood used to create the magnificent Versailles collection was harvested from the gardens of the Chateau de Versailles. Nearly all of the rare and old specimen trees of the castle were up-rooted during the terrible storm of December 26 1999, most of those trees were imported from around the world to the Chateau de Versailles during the 18th century has part of the 1776 gardens renovation ordered by Louis XVI. Note: All Versailles models comes with a customized blue leather pouch, a signature gift box and a numbered certificate of authenticity assuring that the wood used was harvested in the gardens of the Chateau de Versailles. Details containing the age and origin of the tree is included with the certificate. The boot lever is stamped with the famous Fleur de Lys / Iris (Armorial emblem of the kings of France)
